Career Objective:

To serve as an archivist/librarian in a college or university library that is committed to active engagement with learners using both traditional and web-based approaches. To promote use of primary sources in teaching and research and to promote innovative operations and services based in emerging best practices.

  • Processed 10 manuscript collections
  • Created EAD (Electronic Archival Description) electronic finding aids for publication on the Internet for each collection processed
  • Assisted the University Archivist with telephone and e-mail reference inquiries

Education Committee, Co-Chair Kansas City Area Archivists. May 2006-present

  • Planned and coordinated the September 2006 educational symposium "Common Ground: Collaboration in the Heartland,” held at the Kansas State Historical Society
  • Wrote a synopsis of the symposium proceedings for the fall 2006 edition of the KCAA Newsletter, “The Dusty Shelf”

  • Answered telephone, e-mail, and walk-in questions from applicants, parents, counselors, and University of Kansas officials about the status of undergraduate applicants’ files.
  • Succeeded, as part of a team, in the processing of all completed undergraduate applications for the first time in ten years.
  • Entered applicant data and admissions decisions into SAKU, the University of Kansas’ application of PeopleSoft.
