  • The artifacts that best showcase my mastery of this outcome resulted from my work as Education Co-Chair with a regional archives association (Kansas City Area Archivists). I collaborated with my fellow Co-Chair (another SLIM student, Kate Rogge) to plan, coordinate, and put on an educational symposium about collaborative digital projects in the region, entitled “Common Ground: Collaboration in the Heartland.”

The artifacts include the flyer that Kate Rogge and I created to promote the symposium, as well as my synopsis of the event (including pictures) that I wrote for the KCAA newsletter, “The Dusty Shelf.”

    Emporia State University

The oldest School of Library and Information Management (SLIM) in the western U.S., Emporia State University was founded in 1902 and serves a twelve-state area. Designed for non-traditional students, SLIM's weekend-intensive structure and large complement of online courses allow many full-time workers (myself included) the flexibility they need to complete their MLIS degrees.
