LI802, Theoretical Foundations of Service Diagnosis, required each student to prepare a seminar on a topic chosen by Dr. Thomas; my chosen topic was Human-Computer Interaction.
This presentation helped me to do several things:
- First, it gave me a chance to think about how to customize my presentation for an audience with varying learning styles.
- Second, I was able to hone my relatively "green" presentation skills.
- Third, I had the chance to become more familiar with a concept that I had always been interested in, but not had the chance to learn much about.
This seminar was also particularly valuable because Dr. Thomas had built audience feedback into the format, and so I was able to reflect on the effectiveness of my presentation so that I could learn how to improve upon it in the future.
