Hello!
Even when she was little, Lucy like to be organised and kept all her toys neatly in the toy box. As a teenager, she completed a multiple choice psychometric tests to help her choose a career and the career analyst told her she would be best suited to becoming a librarian. At the time, she wasn’t at all enthusiastic about the idea but it turned out that she probably should have paid more attention.
Some years later, after a long and laudable career in the charity sector, Lucy took a part-time job working for a friend at his scanning business, Scantronics. She really enjoyed the work which had a lot of similarities to that of a librarian - creating order out of chaos and preserving old documents for future generations.
While working with various clients from big, blue chip companies to on-line publishers, Lucy realised that some of the scanning services could be used to help individuals and families declutter and get organised at home. So, in 2023 she set up The Digital Archivist targeting home offices, personal photo collections and diaries. Now going strong, The Digital Archivist works with businesses but has a focus on individual clients who are downsizing, de-cluttering or just need some advice on how scanning can help them be more organised.
